Job summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking an Entry Writer / Import Specialist III in Los Angeles to manage complex U.S. Customs import entries and ensure timely, compliant processing. You will work closely with customers, CBP, carriers, overseas offices, and internal teams to move shipments efficiently.

The role requires 4-5+ years in import/logistics with strong documentation and regulatory knowledge, in a high-volume environment. This position is full-time and office-based with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years of import, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics experience preferred.
• Advanced experience preparing and processing U.S. import entries.
• Ability to manage complex import shipments and customer accounts.
• Experience researching and resolving customs entry discrepancies and operational exceptions.
• Knowledge of ocean and air import operations.
• Experience working in high-volume customs brokerage or freight-forwarding environment.
• Experience supporting complex or high-profile customer accounts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process complex U.S. Customs import entries.
• Review invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and other import docs.
• Determine entry types and ensure required information is complete before submission.
• Monitor shipments from pre-arrival through customs clearance and final release.
• Coordinate with carriers, customers, overseas offices, terminals, and internal teams.
• Identify missing or inaccurate documentation and obtain corrections.
• Monitor shipment status and communicate delays or exceptions to stakeholders.
• Serve as senior operational point of contact for assigned customers and complex accounts.
• Provide timely communication regarding shipment status and clearance requirements.
• Research customer questions and provide accurate resolutions.
• Develop strong working relationships with customers and internal partners.
• Proactively identify recurring issues and recommend solutions.
• Assist with quality audits and identification of entry errors or gaps.
• Help develop and maintain SOPs and customer-specific work instructions.
• Support implementation and transition of new customer accounts.
