Job summary

PSA BDP is seeking an Import Manager to lead customs compliance and drive growth and profitability for the department in line with annual plans and budgets.

The role requires regulatory expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on service levels, cost control, and supplier relationships to support global transportation operations. This position emphasizes leadership and adherence to corporate KPIs while ensuring accurate billing and strong client service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years industry experience, 2 in a managerial/supervisory position.
• 2 years of college and/or an additional 2 years of industry experience.
• Knowledge of Transportation industry, Import/Global transportation/Regulatory and business development.
• Must maintain professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• No relocation or immigration assistance provided.

Essential Functions

• Assumes accountability for:
• Customs compliance/statements and best operational practices
• Employee development goals, performance, productivity and morale
• Customer service levels, business development and growth
• Meeting/exceeding all corporate performance KPI’s
• Accurate billing practices
• Responsible for profitability through:
• Budget monitoring
• Cash flow analysis ( A/R,COTS,ACH,Open Job )
• Performance monitoring ( Radar reports )
• Market/customer analysis
• Preparation of quotations for new/existing business
• Responsible for all regulatory issues within the department such as classifications, port entry and problem resolution. Coordinated effort under direction of the Regional Compliance Manager.
• Provide sales support as necessary.
• Manages Partnership / Agent relationship development
• Performs Bid/RFI/RFQ cost/benefit analysis & price authorization.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years industry experience, 2 in a managerial/supervisory position
• 2 years of college and/or an additional 2 years of industry experience
• Knowledge of Transportation industry, Import/Global transportation/Regulatory and business development
• Standard hours and additional time as necessary
• A current CHB license is required and candidate is expected to be office QLH (Qualified License Holder)
• Must maintain professional attitude and appearance at all times
