Job summary

PSA BDP in Philadelphia area seeks an experienced Export Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day activities, ensuring efficient and compliant shipments across global networks. You will supervise the export team, coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customers, and manage documentation to meet regulatory and customer requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with at least 3 years in export/logistics and a proactive problem-solving

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years industry experience.
• Knowledge of Transportation industry, Import/Global transportation/Regulatory and business development.
• Must maintain professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Good communication and organization skills and a strong attention to detail are required.
• The ability to learn various computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support the export operations team in daily activities.
• Manage end-to-end export shipments, including booking, documentation, cargo coordination, customs clearance, and shipment departure.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, customs brokers, overseas agents, and customers.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/air waybills, certificates, and customs documents.
• Monitor shipment schedules, cut-off times, vessel/flight departures, and delivery requirements.
• Track shipments and proactively communicate delays, exceptions, and operational issues to customers and management.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, carrier requirements, and company procedures.
• Review operational performance and identify opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency, and cost control.
• Allocate workload among team members and monitor individual and team performance.
• Train, coach, and develop team members on export procedures, systems, documentation, and customer service.
• Handle customer escalations and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Coordinate with sales and account management teams to support customer requirements and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Verify freight charges, vendor invoices, and other shipment-related costs where required.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure timely system updates.
• Prepare operational reports, KPIs, and performance summaries for management.
• Ensure adherence to company quality, safety, compliance, and standard operating procedures.
