Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a hands-on Data Center Field Engineer for a 100% onsite residency in Memphis, TN. You will repair hardware inside servers, replace components, and provide rapid response support in a fast-paced data center environment.

You will use Linux CLI to run commands and analyze logs, plus have a foundational understanding of data center networking. The role requires flexibility for after-hours, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Job description

This is a 100% onsite residency engagement in Memphis, TN supporting a leading technology company's data center operations — no remote options are available. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on hardware professional who is comfortable working inside servers, replacing parts, and providing FSE/OSE-level support in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling, including after-hours and weekend availability when required, and must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with customers and internal teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hardware Break/Fix Experience — Must be comfortable working inside servers, replacing components, and performing hands‑on repairs; prior Dell FSE experience strongly preferred
• Linux CLI — Hands‑on experience navigating and executing commands in a Linux command‑line environment
• Linux Log Analysis — Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using Linux system logs
• Basic Networking — Foundational understanding of network concepts, connectivity troubleshooting, and data center networking fundamentals
• Physical Requirements — Must be able to lift 65 pounds and work while on a ladder in a live data center environment
• Schedule Flexibility — Must be available for after‑hours, weekend, and holiday support as required by the customer
