Job description

Innovu is a growing Pittsburgh, PA-based data analytics company providing comprehensive solutions that enable advisors and their employer clients to optimize their benefits strategy, human capital risk management, and health benefit design.

Overview

The Project Manager II is an independent execution role responsible for owning a full portfolio of employer client onboardings, from kickoff through data go-live, across a range of implementation types. Working closely with Innovu teams (spanning Operations, Distribution, and Client Experience), the Project Manager ensures every onboarding follows established processes and guidelines so that client data is onboarded accurately and client expectations are met.

The Project Manager (PM) is a strong individual contributor role and this individual will independently manage a high-volume portfolio of active employer onboardings, with capacity scaling based on account complexity and evolving internal tools and processes. This individual will also be the lead coordinator on several medium to large books of business and coordinate with other contributing PMs to give timely updates, appropriately manage oversight of the book of business, and proactively flag issues and support resolution. This individual will coordinate with external clients and their vendors as well as internal stakeholders — including direct line managers, Distribution, and Client Experience team members — to keep every onboarding on track and understand and resolve any data delivery issues. The PM II position requires excellent project management, communication, and relationship management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio & Project Execution

  • Independently manage a high-volume portfolio of active employer onboardings at any given time across assigned partners and implementation types
  • Understand both business and partner objectives and translate them into a well-defined project strategy with measurable goals, in alignment with established Innovu processes
  • Lead all aspects of onboarding execution: kickoff preparation and facilitation, vendor coordination, tracking of data delivery, go-live management, and hand-offs to the Client Experience team
  • Continuously monitor project metrics and milestones to evaluate progress and the effectiveness of the delivery approach
  • Track and maintain accurate, up-to-date project records using Innovu's project tools, including Zoho, Jira, and Smartsheet
  • Communicate progress across projects and books of business to internal leaders to flag risks, convey trends, and enable clarity on portfolio health

Partner & Stakeholder Communication

  • Build and maintain strong, proactive partner relationships throughout the onboarding lifecycle, keeping expectations aligned at every stage
  • Lead stakeholder updates, kickoff calls, and internal hand-offs with full ownership of the communication cadence
  • Respond to partner inquiries promptly and professionally, reinforcing confidence in Innovu's execution

Escalation Management & Cross-Functional Navigation

  • Correctly identify when an issue requires escalation, document the situation clearly, and drive it through to resolution independently
  • Navigate the organization effectively, engaging the right cross-functional partners to coordinate dependencies and resolve blockers

Team Contribution & Growth

  • Contribute to team process discussions and bring forward ideas for process improvement
  • Begin developing executive presentation skills in preparation for continued career growth toward Senior PM and Lead PM roles within Innovu's PM track
