Delivery Services; Implementation Engineer – Remote, US Only

About the role

[RE]DESIGN is seeking a skilled Implementation Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on the installation, configuration, and implementation of customer technology solutions across various industries, including media and entertainment, city governments, and enterprise manufacturing. We're looking for engineers with strong interpersonal skills, technical expertise, and a customer-first mindset. You will work as part of an engineering team, but also need to be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic and be proactive in managing both customer interactions and their time effectively. Previous experience working in medium-to-large datacenter environments is preferred. The main responsibilities include hands-on design, installation, and configuration of infrastructure solutions. Delivery Engineers will collaborate with project managers and the customer’s IT staff to implement solutions designed during pre-sales, ensuring accurate and timely deployment. Please Note: various percentages of travel are required for this position.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate knowledge with networking technologies of varying vendors and be able to apply the knowledge of these methodologies to the customer’s environment.

Experience implementing solutions that might include servers, storage, virtualization platforms, networking devices.

Part of this role includes racking and stacking various equipment in customer environments, using Visio diagrams as a reference.

Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V; other useful skills include Nutanix, Azure HCI, KVM.

Experience with administering & implementing core Windows Services and troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, ADDS.

Experienced in creating and maintaining technical documentation. For example, network diagrams, site surveys, audit reports, etc.

Ability to travel (via air travel) to customer locations for onsite support or hardware installations.

Able to work off hours for planned maintenance, project implementations, or unplanned emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role you must have experience with the following minimum qualifications.

Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience within an MSP, VAR, ISP, NOC, or enterprise IT environment.

Minimum 1 – 3 years ofexperience managing VMware/vCenter environments, with additional experience leveraging cross vCenter migrations, VMotion and standing up a net new VMware Clusters is desirable.

Minimum 1 – 3 years of Experience with Layer 2 Networking for TOR Switches is highly desired.

Minimum 1 – 3 years managing Windows Core Services such as DHCP, DNS, & AD.

Minimum 1 - 3 of experience managing or installing Enterprise Storage Solutions including iSCSI, Fiber Channel, NVMe over TCP.

Experience with hyper-converged systems, such as: VxRail, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix, etc is desirable.

Administrative/installation experience with Backup Software such as Avamar, Power Protect Data Manager, vProtect, & Veeam is desirable.

Administrative/installation experience with Backup Storage such as Data Domain is desirable.

Ability to be available for break-fix scenarios on short notice.

This is a customer facing role. You must have excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and the confidence to talk about the solution you’re implementing.
