Job summary

DHL Supply Chain seeks an Implementation Design Lead to spearhead the technical design and deployment of the Infios TMS solution (MercuryGate) and related tools for Transportation and LLP products.

This remote role aligns to Eastern Time hours and requires national travel up to 40%. You will serve as the technical lead across projects, shaping architecture, testing, configuration, and readiness of systems, while also providing project management support when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or 6+ years’ IT experience with a technical design background.
• Experience in TMS implementations and support of business systems.
• Infios TMS / MercuryGate experience is a must.
• Willingness to travel 20–40% nationally.

Responsibilities

• Design and planning for IT projects including SIPOC and business requirements.
• Translate requirements into detailed TMS system designs and specifications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define functional and technical specs for TMS implementations.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies for TMS deployments.
• Lead internal technical directions, coordinating with product teams and ensuring standardization.
• Develop concept of systems development, vendor collaboration, and integration with existing processes.
• Provide QA through testing, training, and post-implementation support of TMS solutions.
• Document systems and SOPs with DHL and client.
• Provide training across associates, customers, and partners.

This role will lead the technical design and deployment of Infios TMS solution (formerly MercuryGate) and other auxiliary solutions for our Transportation and LLP products.

This role can be based remotely with the expectations the role will work eastern time zone hours.

Job Description

The Implementation Design Lead (IDL) is the technical resource on multiple projects, supporting Implementation Analysts and Project Managers developing technical requirements, defining the solution architecture, testing, configuration, and technical readiness of the system. This role will lead the technical design and deployment of Infios TMS solution (formerly MercuryGate) and other auxiliary solutions for our Transportation and LLP products. This role will also provide project management support for internal projects.

Responsibilities

Design and Planning:

• Participate on suppliers, inputs, process, outputs, and customers (SIPOC) and business requirements on the IT project
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed Transportation Management System (TMS) system designs
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define functional and technical specifications for the TMS implementations
• Identify risks and issues related to the TMS implementation and devise mitigation strategies
• Serves as internal technical leader, partnering with product team on setup/design phases and provides configuration and design direction to ensure project standardization.

Project Delivery:

• Participate in development of concept of systems development, software demonstration, preparation, and execution.
• Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to customize and integrate the TMS system with existing business processes and infrastructure
• Support and ensure quality of predefined IT solutions as selected to support business needs, including system setup, testing, training, implementation and post implementation support of the predefined IT solution(s) such as TMS into a new or existing client site(s).
• Understand current work processes, develop and publish work processes, and actively participate in Integration Design, Supplier Input Process Output Customers (SIPOC), System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Day In the Life Of (DILO) session
• Facilitate technical documentation of systems and support operational development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) between DHL and the client
• Provide specialty technical knowledge of one or more in-house or third-party applications. Primarily leveraging tour Infios TMS and other internally built applications.
• Facilitate training for all levels of associates, customers, and/or business partners.

Documentation:

• Develop, train, and maintain technical documentation in support of specified applications to ensure the delivery of a standardized solution
• Maintain standard documents on configuration, troubleshooting and update based on lessons learned from projects
• Member and leader of our regional Transportation Change Control team.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT similar field or 6+ years’ experience in an IT environment with a technical design background, required
• Experience in TMS implementations and support of business systems, required
• Experience with Infios TMS / MercuryGate experience a must.
• Ability to travel 20%-40% nationally to collaborate with broader team, required
