The City of Indianapolis and Marion County is seeking a skilled Equipment Installer to evaluate, prepare, and install devices into public safety vehicles. You will work primarily in a garage setting, performing tests and diagnostics to ensure proper operation of equipment such as sirens, cameras, GPS, and racks.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, related auto or electronics background, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of related work experience or education (auto mechanic or electronics background). Must pass an employment physical; must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Valid Indiana driver's license required. Must pass pre-employment background investigation. Effective oral and written communication skills required. Knowledge of inventory control, ability to operate general office equipment and customer service skills required. Must be able to accurately file and maintain records; complete routine forms and reports; meet deadlines; quickly solve problems. Must be able to operate public safety vehicles. Strict confidentiality required.
Work performed mostly inside garage area with some parking lot duties such as moving, cleaning, parking vehicles during all weather conditions.
