Job summary

The Brandywine YMCA, part of the YMCA of Delaware, is seeking a Program Specialist for Sports Leagues to lead youth classes and ensure safe, engaging activities for children. The role emphasizes instruction across multiple sports and fosters a love for physical activity.

We value strong communication and 1–2 years of coaching/teaching experience with children, offering career development and staff benefits. This is a part-time position with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
• 1–2 years of experience coaching, teaching, or working with children in a recreational or sports setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead youth sports classes, teaching basic skills in soccer, basketball, baseball.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure active participation and love of physical activity among children.
• Monitor safety during practices, games, and activities.
• Maintain and ensure safety of sports equipment.
• Enforce safety rules and ensure children follow instructions.
