Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA in Cranberry Township, PA is seeking a Program Coordinator to assist the Director in managing swim lessons and coordinating sports and activities. The role emphasizes a welcoming, supportive culture aligned with YMCA values, with a focus on youth development and healthy living.

The position requires a high school diploma, minimum 18 years old, and relevant experience in children’s programming, swim instruction, and coaching. Evening and weekend work are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with children.
• Minimum 2 years of swim lesson instruction; preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of sports, coaching, programming related experience; preferred.
• American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Certification, which includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer/First Aid/AED; required.
• YMCA Swim Instructor Certification within 6 months of employment; preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills; required.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director/Manager in training, scheduling, and overseeing assigned staff and volunteers.
• Assist Director/Manager with planning, prep, implementation of Special Events.
• Assist Director/Manager with art & humanities, STEM and sports planning and development.
• Assist Director/Manager with swim lessons; fill in for staff when needed.
• Coordinate and schedule all birthday party inquiries and reservations; fill in for staff when needed.
• Ensure the Health and Safety of all children in the program at all times; implement Emergency Procedures as necessary.
