Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist to manage claims from assignment through settlement, prioritizing timely resolution and return-to-work outcomes. The role involves coordinating medical treatment, collaborating with nurses and legal resources, and ensuring proper documentation and file quality.

You will work with cross-functional teams to pursue favorable resolutions, apply Medicare Set Asides when required, and handle a variety of claim complexities with appropriate

Qualifications

• 2 years Workers Compensation claim handling experience.
• Analytical thinking to identify problems and opportunities and to support decision-making.
• Strong written and verbal communication to summarize findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Investigate policy coverage and determine compensability; contact insureds, injured workers, and providers.
• Establish and update reserves to reflect claim exposure and justify rationale.
• Manage files with timely contact, proper documentation, and proactive resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with medical, legal, and internal nurse resources to pursue resolution opportunities.
• Negotiate settlements within authority and determine suitable settlement strategies.
