Job summary

CoreCivic is hiring a Vocational Instructor to deliver instructional services in an institutional setting, teaching trades such as business, computers/technology, carpentry and plumbing to inmates/students. The role focuses on developing practical skills and supporting learning objectives.

Responsibilities include preparing objectives, planning study programs, delivering instruction with diverse materials, evaluating progress, and providing extra instruction as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Three years of full-time wage-earning experience in the vocational trade or career readiness skills, or three years of experience as a certified instructor.
• Must possess or be eligible for certification/license or credentials required by contract/state.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course objectives following curriculum standards.
• Plan and document a program of study to meet student needs.
• Provide instruction using handouts, texts, audiovisual aids and other materials; evaluate performance and issue progress reports.
