Job summary

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) STAR Center Trauma Research Core is seeking a Research Project Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations of multiple research studies and clinical trials, coordinating data collection, scheduling, and subject interfacing.

The role requires adherence to good clinical practices and regulations, with duties spanning recruitment, data management, reporting, and collaboration with investigators and sponsors. Evening/night/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating clinical research or nursing is strongly preferred.
• Ability to adhere to SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of IRB processes and Good Clinical Practice is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operations with PI, participants, and sponsors to manage study operations and evaluation.
• Ensure efficiency and compliance with protocols and applicable regulations; resolve non-compliant issues.
• Recruit and screen participants; develop recruitment streams and obtain informed consent.
• Lead data collection, manage databases, perform quality checks, and supervise data entry if needed.
• Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports for sponsors and investigators; summarize deviations.
• Assist in budget planning and inventory management.
• Process and transport specimens following aseptic techniques; venipuncture as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
