Job summary

University of Maryland, Baltimore seeks a Research Project Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations of clinical studies and trials within the STAR Center—Trauma Research Core. The role includes coordinating data collection, monitoring compliance with protocols, and serving as the primary liaison for participants, staff, and sponsors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, emergency services, chemistry, biology, public health, psychology, sociology or another discipline appropriate to position.
• Prior experience in coordinating clinical research or nursing strongly preferred.
• OR: combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits equaling one year experience.
• May require training related to occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, shipping of hazardous materials and/or ionizing radiation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations of one or more research studies or clinical trials.
• Serve as liaison for study participants, research personnel, and sponsors.
• Ensure protocol compliance and regulatory reporting.
• Lead data collection, establish databases, perform data quality checks.
• Develop routine and non-routine reports for sponsors and investigators.
• Assist in budget development and inventory maintenance.
• Obtain and transport specimens following aseptic technique.
