Job summary

SOAR365 in Richmond, VA is seeking an Employment/Transition Specialist to support students and young adults with disabilities in building skills for employment and independence.

Responsibilities include coordinating customized and supported employment services, delivering career exploration and workplace readiness training, and partnering with families and community organizations to create meaningful work opportunities. A Bachelor's degree and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Psychology, Human Services, or Social Work.
• Minimum of three years of experience with individuals with disabilities.
• Experience in Supported or Customized Employment preferred; job development a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct training, supervision, and support to students and young adults with disabilities participating in Customized and Supported Employment services.
• Develop and deliver instructional programming for students ages 14-22 in career exploration, independent living, self-advocacy, workplace readiness, and community involvement.
• Assist with career fairs, transition fairs, family workshops, and collaborate with community agencies and transition stakeholders.
• Provide job development, conduct task analyses, support work-based learning opportunities, and maintain timely documentation.
