Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a System Safety & Reliability Engineer to ensure safety and reliability across products throughout their life cycle. The role collaborates with Design, System, and Service Engineers to meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering plus 2+ years in statistics and reliability, with a Master’s/JD/PhD preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Engineering and 2+ years’ experience in statistics, probability and reliability prediction.
  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Engineering JD/PhD.
  • US Citizenship required to be considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Understand degradation and failure mechanisms to reduce hazards.
  • Develop models using deterministic or data-driven techniques.
  • Assess design solutions for safety and reliability impact.
  • Develop and deploy models at component to fleet levels.
  • Support part/function classification activities.
  • Support safety documentation (FHA, FMECA, System Safety Assessment).
  • Support FRACAS and event management in development and service.
