Job summary

Pitt County Schools is seeking a Substitute Teacher and Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction across multiple sites. You will implement lesson plans, maintain order, and assist with a range of student needs while upholding district policies.

Ideal candidates show strong communication, classroom management, and the ability to work well with diverse students, including those with special care needs. Employment is 10 months with daily rate compensation.

Responsibilities

• Reports to main office upon arrival at the school.
• Implements prepared lesson plans.
• Maintains order and discipline fostering a safe environment.
• Completes records such as attendance and grades.
• Fulfills duties of classroom teacher.
• Models ethical behavior.
• Monitors student interactions and keeps students on task.
• Assists with needs of all students including exceptional students.
• Keeps academic time intact and motivates learning.
• Maintains routines and classroom procedures.
• Maintains classroom materials and equipment usage.
• Promotes care of school property.
• Reports injuries and discipline issues promptly.
• Reports unusual occurrences to administration.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information.
• Follows school policies and guidelines.
• Remains at school during the day unless excused.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
