Job summary

Regional School Unit 57 in Waterboro, Maine seeks a Substitute Teacher to support learning when regular staff are absent. This part-time position requires flexibility, a bachelor’s degree (preferred), and the ability to follow lesson plans and communicate with students and colleagues.

You will report to building administration, arrive early, supervise classes, maintain order, take attendance, and leave notes for the day. Wage is $140–$150 per day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Ability and flexibility in working with young people.
• Able to report to the school on short notice and teach regularly planned lessons.
• To communicate and cooperate with students, community and school personnel.

Responsibilities

• Report to the school at least half an hour before school opens or as early as possible after being notified.
• Review and follow teacher's plans and materials; maintain order in assigned classes.
• Take attendance and report any student not accounted for to the office.
• Leave significant information summarizing the day’s activities; notify the office of any injuries or illnesses.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Building Administration or Central Office staff.
