Job summary

DeCoach Recovery Centre in Fairfield, OH is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor (CDCA, LCDC, LICDC required) to join our full-time professional team. The counselor will assess, plan, and deliver individualized behavioral health treatments in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

You will provide individual and group counseling, maintain documentation, participate in supervision, and stay current with best practices while supporting diverse clients in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Current licensure or certification as a Mental Health Counselor or equivalent (e.g., CDCA, LCDC II/III, LICDC, LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW) in accordance with local regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with diverse professionals.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to build rapport with clients.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong organizational skills with caseload management and timely documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients with behavioral health concerns.
• Provide individual and group counseling using strengths-based, person-centered approaches.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and case managers for comprehensive care.
• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and clinical supervision.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and stay updated on research and best practices.
• Provide culturally competent, inclusive care and advocate for client needs within the organization.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation including progress notes and treatment plans.
• Provide crisis intervention and coordinate with resources to ensure client safety.
