Job summary

Wilson Engineers in Tempe, AZ seeks an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our team. You will perform design, analysis, and calculations for water and wastewater infrastructure, and develop construction drawings from concept through final design.

You will apply sound engineering principles, stay current with design standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Civil or Architectural Eng with structural emphasis.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain.
• MS Office, Mathcad, TEDDS or similar analytical software experience.
• SAP2000, STAAD or similar FE software experience.
• AutoCAD, Revit or similar detailing/drawing experience.
• Team-oriented design and engineering services through construction.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and deadline-driven skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design, analysis, and calculations for water and wastewater projects.
• Develop construction drawings, specs, and deliverables from concept to final design.
• Conduct structural assessments and field investigations; assist in reports and cost estimates.
• Apply engineering principles and standards to deliver high-quality designs.
• Independently manage smaller assignments while collaborating with senior engineers.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet goals, budgets, and schedules.
• Guide CAD designers and staff to ensure timely, accurate documentation.
• Continuously learn new technologies, design standards, and best practices.
