Job summary

Wilson Engineers seeks an experienced Project Engineer in Tempe, AZ to join our Water/Wastewater team. You will develop designs, manage multiple assignments, and coordinate with CAD designers and other engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil/Environmental engineering degree, 3+ years of experience, and an EIT certification; a PE license is preferred or obtainable. Strong writing, teamwork, and client service are valued.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years engineering experience.
• EIT certification required.
• PE license preferred or eligible to obtain licensure.
• Experience with municipal water/wastewater projects preferred.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and technical documents for water and wastewater projects.
• Manage multiple assignments with quality, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with CAD designers, engineers, and subconsultants.
• Review calculations, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and O&M manuals.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and collect field data.
• Prepare reports, calculations, figures, and permit applications.
• Assist in project scopes, schedules, staffing plans, and budgets.
• Coordinate deliverables to support QA and client submissions.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns.
• Collaborate across disciplines for innovative solutions.
• Support risk management, proposals, and contract reviews.
• Maintain client relationships with responsive technical support.
