Job summary

Christus HomeCare - St. Michael in Texas seeks a licensed Speech Therapist to assess, plan and implement treatment for speech, language, swallowing and cognitive impairments.

You will work with the care team to evaluate progress and adjust plans, while educating patients and families on therapy techniques. The role requires a state license, reliable transportation, and CPR certification (preferred or within 90 days).

Qualifications

• Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence.
• Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
• CPR certification preferred or obtainable within 90 days.
• Weekend rotation availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws and plan of care.
• Evaluates function using diagnostic and prognostic functional tests and assists in therapy plan.
• Treats patients to facilitate effective communication according to patient condition.
• Observes, records, and reports responses to treatment to supervising nurse or physician.
• Instructs patient, family and caregiver in speech therapy areas they can participate.
• Function in home settings regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, or disability.
