Chicago Public Schools is seeking a SPED Teacher (9-12) for the West Side location. The role requires a valid IL teaching license endorsed in LBS1 and a bachelor's degree or higher, with CPS online application completed.

Responsibilities include planning, monitoring progress, and maintaining discipline for Diverse Learners. The position focuses on collaborative planning with case managers and general education teachers, alignment with IEPs, and ensuring outcomes for students with diverse needs.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach.
• A valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education, with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the role.

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to select learning objectives and design coherent instruction and assessments.
• Create an environment for effective student learning by establishing a respectful classroom culture and strong management of student behaviors.
• Respond to student needs by designing engaging instruction with appropriately challenging questions and aligned assessments.
• Exhibit strong communication and professional judgment in interactions with administration, colleagues, families, and students.
• Prioritize student safety through consistent implementation of the Student Code of Conduct and school-wide systems.
• Personalize student learning through mastery and use of curriculum resources and technology.
• Advocate for equity, high expectations, and developmental appropriateness for all students.
