Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract full-time position in Austin, TX, serving students from kindergarten through high school. The role reports to the Special Education Program Administrator and emphasizes collaboration with general education staff to plan and implement student programs.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree, valid state teaching certification, and licensure such as LBS1 preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, K-12.
• Participate in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
