Job summary

Cross Country Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a self-contained elementary classroom in the Tempe/Phoenix, AZ area. You will assess needs, develop IEPs, monitor progress, and implement instructional strategies to promote academic growth and independence.

The role requires AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance, CPR/First Aid, and experience with diverse learning and behavioral needs. The position offers a 40-hour school-week schedule and competitive pay with potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Special Education preferred.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
• Current NCI and CPR/First Aid Certifications are required.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs and supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and individualized support to elementary students in a self-contained special education classroom.
• Assess student needs, develop and implement IEPs, and monitor progress to evaluate and adjust instructional outcomes.
• Implement behavioral strategies and crisis-intervention techniques, including physical restraint when necessary and permitted.
• Collaborate with instructional aides, families, related-service providers, and school staff to support student learning and goals
