Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.

• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting process and implementation.
• Knowledge of how to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs.
• Effective communication skills.
• Experience: Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and other staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional/therapeutic programs and document preparation.
• Assess student learning styles and plan appropriate strategies and materials.
• Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines and employ varied instructional media.
• Modify regular curricula to assist special education students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD meetings regularly.
• Assist in selection of books, equipment, and instructional media.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
• Provide personal/medical care as required by IEP.
• Lead or supervise extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Coordinate with district/resource personnel for student needs.
