Job summary

Hastings ISD 200 is seeking a Substitute Paraprofessional to support students academically, emotionally and behaviorally. You will assist a licensed teacher, collect data, manage behavior, and reinforce instruction in small groups or one-on-one settings across district locations.

The role involves supervising students during lunch and arrival/departure, with flexible hours (5.75 or 6.25 hours/day). Starting pay is $19.40 per hour; this is a non-contracted, non-benefited position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow program direction as provided by teachers and administrators.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in weight and support students with activities of daily living.
• Proficient in organizational skills.
• Ability to be punctual in reporting to work and for assigned duties during the day.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the licensed teacher in providing instructional reinforcement, accommodations and managing student educational progress in the classroom.
• Assist with data collection and behavior management techniques to ensure student success.
• Assist and support student learning with academics, social/emotional needs, and interpersonal skills.
• Assist special education teacher in implementing district policies and procedures including but not limited to emergency procedures, data collection, positive behavior supports and non-violent crisis intervention as directed.
• Reinforce instruction through small group or individual activities.
• Ability to be flexible with schedule changes, student assignments, behavior regulation.
• Supervising and assisting students during lunch, arrival/departure from school, and other daily needs.
• Maintain a high level of respect, equity for all and confidentiality of information regarding students, staff and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
