Job summary

Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 invites applications for a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Aspire Autism Program at South Elementary School. The role provides instructional support and helps with academic, behavioral, language and physical needs under teacher supervision.

Responsibilities include communicating with staff and students, maintaining confidentiality, supporting IEP goals, and assisting with meals, recess, transport, and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid ISBE Paraprofessional License or Short Term Approval.
• Willingness to learn appropriate use of technology.
• Desire to work with students with special needs.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain confidentiality of students and records.
• Understand basic elements of an IEP.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with teachers, staff and students as needed.
• Collaborate and foster teamwork within the Aspire program.
• Maintain anecdotal notes and data recording as required.
• Assist with strategies to support social interaction and inclusion.
• Support students with instructional activities and test accommodations.
• Assist with toileting, feeding, and safety under supervision.
• Attend ongoing training and maintain ethical standards.
