Job summary

Norwalk Board of Education is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator for the 2026-2027 school year at Shaw Elementary School. You will support students to participate in their educational program under direct supervision of a special education teacher.

The role involves assisting with IEP goals, data collection, documentation, and classroom activities, with emphasis on student safety, confidentiality, and collaboration with staff and families.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency and ParaPro Certificate.
• Bachelor's Degree, Preferred.
• Associate's Degree in education or related field or ParaPro Certificate or two years of college required.
• Two years of experience working with children or young adults in a school setting, preferred.
• For Special Education Paraeducators—experience with students with high management needs is preferred.
• May require fluency in Spanish.
