Job summary

Pelham Elementary School, in partnership with The New England Center for Children (NECC), seeks an Instructional Assistant to support students with intensive needs. You will assist with instruction, data collection, and behavior support under NECC guidance.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to IEP goals. This full‑time IA position emphasizes collaboration with clinicians, teachers, and families in a dynamic school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous special education experience preferred.
• Interest in working with children in special education.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Completion of NECC training (CALM safety and de‑escalation procedures).

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety of all students.
• Provides direct educational services for the duration of the school day.
• Incorporates specific educational objectives into the context of ongoing activities.
• Collects data on targeted skills and enters data into ACE®.
• Communicates with parents of their primary student via home log.
• Maintains student records in a neat and orderly manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Classroom Teacher, NECC Clinical Supervisor and/or Administrator.
