Job summary

Gresham-Barlow School District 10J is seeking an Educational Assistant Structured Skills Center (Special Education) to support students with behavioral disabilities and mental health needs under supervision of teachers. The position includes classroom instruction, supervision, and routine clerical tasks.

The EA-SSC will also assist with health care needs, drive responsibility if certified, and work to align with IEP objectives while supporting a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with school-age children preferred.
• Associates degree or higher or equivalent demonstrated ability in reading, writing, and math through high school level.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance; First Aid/CPR; Bloodborne Pathogen training; Type 20 driver's certification to drive a specialized district bus.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and developing students' daily living and behavioral skills.
• Provide instructional practice and review to individuals, small groups, and/or whole groups as directed by the teacher.
• Participate in clinical, triage, and data team meetings with teachers and support staff.
• Adapt classroom materials to support objectives and reinforce learning.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as needed.
• Transit students using district vehicles as required.
