Job summary

Norman Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support instructional activities and student supervision in a classroom setting. The role requires meeting Tier 1 paraprofessional requirements and progressing toward Tier 2 certification within 120 days of employment.

The ideal candidate will assist with instruction, monitor student behavior, and help prepare materials. A high school diploma or GED is required, with college hours preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction and activities for individuals or groups as assigned by the teacher.
• Supervise students in instructional settings, on-site and during non-instructional times.
• Prepare or adapt instructional materials and teaching aids as directed.
• Assist students with assignments and help operate instructional equipment.
• Serve as main contact for substitute teachers and support staff.
• Support teachers with student behavior management and respond to needs as they arise.
• Maintain student confidentiality at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
