Job summary

DeKalb County Central United School District is seeking a Transportation Secretary for the Auburn, Indiana area to support the Transportation Department. You will assist the Directors of Transportation and staff to ensure safe and efficient student transport, manage calls, dispatch buses, schedule field trips, and maintain records.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, office experience, and familiarity with Google and Microsoft systems.

Qualifications

• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Directors of Transportation and staff to provide safe, efficient student transportation.
• Receive and direct incoming telephone calls and maintain radio communications.
• Schedule field trips and assign sub-drivers to vacancies.
• Review timesheets and enter employee hours to Payroll.
• Maintain DOT files for all drivers and keep driver records current.
• Communicate with teachers, staff, parents and students.
• Perform routine clerical duties.
• Perform other duties as required.
