Qualifications

• Massachusetts Certification as a School Adjustment Counselor/Social Worker required.
• Massachusetts LICSW or LMHC required.
• Experience as a School Adjustment/Guidance Counselor preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with adults and students.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with social/emotional interventions.
• Works closely with at-risk students and refers to community resources when needed.
• Serves as designee in matters of suspected abuse and as Crisis Response Team member.
• Coordinates support services within the elementary schools and community as needed.
• Conducts home visits and trains staff on crisis intervention.
• Provides short-term/crisis counseling and liaison with outside agencies.
