Job summary

Lynn Public Schools is seeking a School Nurse for a long-term substitute role to deliver comprehensive health services across its urban district in Lynn, MA. The nurse will assess health needs, manage chronic conditions, and coordinate care with families and school staff.

Responsibilities include developing healthcare plans, administering medications, and leading health education initiatives while maintaining records and complying with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing; master’s preferred.
• DESE school nurse licensure or eligible.
• Two years in child health or related clinical settings.
• CPR/AED certification.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience in urban district preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison among home, school, and community resources.
• Assess and treat illness; manage chronic conditions.
• Provide emergency care and participate in health screenings.
• Develop individualized healthcare plans in collaboration with families.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as required.
• Train staff and educate students and families about health.
• Maintain health records and complete MADPH reports.
• Collaborate with school team and physicians.
