Job summary

The State of South Carolina seeks a Mental Health Professional I/School-Based in Marion County to provide evidence-based counseling within schools, supporting recovery and wellness. Primary duties involve developing treatment plans and guiding clients in developing coping strategies, with services also delivered in community settings during breaks.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in guidance, counseling, or social sciences or related field.
• Must be licensed or able to become licensed as LMSW, LMFT, or LPC within the first year of employment.
• Credentialing and privileging as mental health professional per QA/OMH standards.
• Evidence of direct patient care clinical experience required.
• Ability to lift 5 pounds and operate a state vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based services in schools to promote recovery and support client wellness.
• Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans and guide clients in skill development.
• Deliver services primarily in designated schools; community and clinic during school holidays.
• Complete clinical documentation using collaborative documentation and QA/OMH standards.
• Participate in supervision, treatment team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Maintain certification and implement evidence-based practices.
• Review caseload weekly for timely discharge, engagement, and follow-up.
• Comply with policies and ensure timely prior authorizations.
