Job summary

The YMCA of West Bend in West Bend, WI is seeking a School Age Director to lead licensed before- and after-school programs, supervise staff, manage budgets, and ensure licensing compliance. The role supports Day Camp oversight in summer and collaborates with community partners to deliver high-quality youth development programs.

Salary ranges from $50,000 to $60,000 with full benefits. Requirements include an Associate degree, supervisory experience, and Wisconsin licensing qualifications for

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Minimum of Associates Degree required, degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum 240 hours experience as a child care teacher or center director in a group child care center.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience overseeing a youth program.
• Must meet Wisconsin Licensing qualifications for Center Director; Must meet qualifications for Center Director of 51 or more within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Manages, directs and coordinates the school age childcare programs for assigned location(s); ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities; expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
• Assist the Day Camp Director to coordinator the Day Camp program.
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed; reviews and evaluates staff performance; develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
• Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position; ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected; supports and budgets for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality.
• Ensures that YMCA program standards and Wisconsin State Licensing requirements are met and safety procedures followed.
• Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living.
• Develops and maintains relationships with Wisconsin state childcare licensing, school administration, parent groups and other organizations andagencies related to assigned programs; responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
• Attends Day Camp and School Age Cabinet meetings.
• Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
• Compiles program statistics; monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct and policies within the Child Abuse Prevention handbook.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
