Under the direction of the Program Director or Executive in charge, the School Age Childcare Administrator and Director shall be responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing high-quality programs and events in areas such as Summer Camp, Family, and other childcare-related departments. Additionally, provides leadership to ensure all services offered through the Y meet the strategic goals of the YMCA, fostering relationships with staff, members, volunteers, program participants, and the communities served.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develop, implement, and manage operating plans, events, and schedules to promote program and membership growth and retention. Execute strategies to ensure members and participants connect with each other and the YMCA.
2. Develop and control budgets related to responsibilities.
3. Direct and supervise program activities to meet community needs and YMCA objectives. Establish new programs and expand existing ones in line with strategic plans.
4. Act as Administrator, Director, and on-site Health Supervisor as needed for DCF programs assigned. Responsible for center management, including personnel, finance, physical plant, and daily operations.
5. Supervise planning and implementation of the center’s program for children, staff supervision, meetings, orientation, and ongoing staff education.
6. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, ensuring quality standards are met. Provide data and reports as required.
7. Stay updated on professional knowledge through self-study, research, and participation in conferences or workshops.
8. Recruit, train, evaluate, and lead staff and volunteers to ensure safe, high-quality, participant-focused services through innovative programming and staff development. Ensure staff certifications are current. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
9. Support staff in planning, conducting, and evaluating developmentally appropriate activities for children, creating opportunities to meet their changing needs.
10. Adhere to all applicable DCF Licensing Rules for Wisconsin and YoungStar quality guidelines.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
