Job summary

Ochsner Health in Gretna, LA is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide bedside care, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for neonatal through geriatric patients. You will perform ABG analyses, monitor patients, educate staff and patients, and adapt care to individual needs in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Required licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC-registered, BLS, ACLS within 90 days, and strong data-entry/computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS obtained within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on patient age and specific needs.
• Adapts care delivery to the patient population and communicates accordingly.
