Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostics, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. You will operate RT-CRT setups, monitor ABGs/EKGs, and provide patient education.

Required licenses include State RT and NBRC-Registered, plus BLS; ACLS within 90 days. Strong data entry, communication, and teamwork are essential. Ochsner supports compliant, patient-first care across facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice required.
• Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.
• ACLS obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures per policy.
• Review and document all clinical information for each patient.
• Educate patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic procedures.
• Provide age-appropriate care with privacy and safety considerations.
• Adapt interactions to patient population and respect privacy.
