Job summary

Resource Innovations in the Phoenix–Mesa metro area is seeking a Residential Energy Auditor to deliver high-quality in-home energy audits and QA/QC for the HEAR program, focusing on income-based participants while collaborating with contractor networks. This role requires strong customer service, building science knowledge, and BPI certifications.

Qualifications

• Located in Metro Arizona; 2+ years in field services/quality control or related energy/utility experience highly desired.
• Must hold a current BPI Building Analyst Certification (BPI BA) or willing to obtain within 30 days of acceptance.
• Knowledge of building science and technical expertise is required.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• HERS and RESNET Rater certification preferred.
• Ability to travel 25% to 75% of the time (limited overnight travel).

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site residential energy audits, including HVAC, insulation, windows, lighting, appliances, and building envelope.
• Use diagnostic tools such as blower doors, combustion analyzers, and infrared cameras to assess air leakage and energy performance.
• Collect and analyze utility data, homeowner usage patterns, and building specifications.
• Utilize provided software tools to input all above data and prioritize recommendations for energy-saving improvements.
• Educate homeowners about energy-saving opportunities, rebates, and best practices.
• Perform post-installation inspections to verify completion and effectiveness of energy upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and program requirements.
• Collaborate with contractors, utility representatives, and program managers as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and submit documentation in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
