Job summary

Berkshire Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing in West Babylon, NY seeks a Recreation Supervisor to lead our Recreation Department and enhance residents' quality of life through engaging programs.

The role emphasizes supervising staff, planning group and 1:1 activities, ensuring accurate documentation, and coordinating with the Recreation Director to meet regulatory requirements and care plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing home setting or recreational program within the past 5 years.
• Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Computer proficiency required; experience with SigmaCare EMR preferred.
• Must be dependable, flexible, and resident-focused.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operation and supervision of the Recreation Department.
• Assume departmental leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Recreation Director.
• Plan, assign, and facilitate group activities and individualized 1:1 resident programs.
• Complete MDS assessments, care plans, new admission evaluations, quarterly reviews, and significant change assessments accurately and within required timeframes.
• Monitor resident participation and report concerns, changes, or issues to the Recreation Director.
• Provide support and coverage for Recreation Leaders as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all facility and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
