Job summary

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide advanced behavioral intervention and instructional support to special education students with emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs in Bonita, CA.

Under supervision, the RBT implements BIPs, supports staff with behavior strategies, conducts data collection, and participates in assessments and progress monitoring as part of the Student Services and Programs division.

Qualifications

• Satisfy paraprofessional ESSA requirements: two years of college, an associate degree, or demonstrated knowledge in reading, writing, and mathematics.
• RBT Certification is required.
• Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
• CPI certification within three months of hire.
• Experience with students with social-emotional needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced behavioral intervention and instructional support to special education students with emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
• Assist with the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and positive behavior support strategies.
• Provide behavior-focused academic and social-emotional support under supervision of certificated staff.
• Conduct structured behavioral data collection and progress monitoring.
• Support staff with behavior intervention techniques.
• Perform related duties as assigned within the scope of RBT practice.
