Job summary

The City of Leawood, Kansas is hiring a Contract Coordinator to support the Public Works Department. This position focuses on contract administration, project coordination, and ensuring compliance with requirements while delivering efficient, customer-friendly service.

You will manage contract-related activities from initiation to close-out, assist with bids and RFPs, and collaborate with engineers and city staff to keep projects progressing on time and within scope.

Qualifications

  • Five years of contract administration and project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field with three years of relevant experience.
  • Must obtain CAPM within one year of hire.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Knowledge of contract administration principles.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administration, tracking, and execution of contracts for Public Works projects.
  • Monitor schedules, documentation, approvals, and milestones from initiation through close-out.
  • Assist with formal bid openings and RFPs, including bid tabulations and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and City departments to resolve issues.
  • Support accreditation efforts through research, reporting, and documentation.
  • Help implement new systems and technologies to improve tracking and reporting.
  • Provide exceptional customer service regarding Public Works projects and contracts.
