Job summary

The State of Indiana is seeking a detail-oriented Project Costing Accountant to support the IDOH Finance Division. You will monitor, analyze, and report financial activity across multiple funding sources, ensuring accurate cost allocation and compliance.

You will prepare budgets, reconcile funding sources, and support federal drawdowns while translating complex financial data into actionable guidance for program teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of public accounting.
• Extensive knowledge of federal and state laws, policies, and procedures as they pertain to accounting and bookkeeping.
• Ability to lead budget preparations and direct preparation and interpretation of complex financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial reports to assess compliance with procedural standards.
• Maintain or examine records of government agencies and grant funds.
• Advise the appointing authority and/or controller on the status of all accounts.
