Job summary

Prince William County Criminal Justice Services is seeking a Probation/Pretrial Officer who can combine strong interpersonal skills with evidence-based practices to support adults under supervision. This fast-paced, collaborative agency aims to reduce victimization and promote community safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with five years of related experience, a bachelor's degree preferred, and the ability to travel overnight.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with minimum five years in criminology, psychology, social services, counseling, or related court processes.
• Bachelor's degree preferred with 2–3 years in probation/pretrial services.
• Experience in supervision, case management, risk assessments and referrals.
• Effective written and oral communication required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise probation/pretrial clients and support community safety.
• Conduct case management and risk assessments; make referrals as needed.
• Develop and follow 1:1 case plans with clients and perform follow-ups.
• Provide customer service, group facilitation, and present to others as needed.
