Job summary

The City of Hutchinson, Kansas is seeking a Probation Officer for the Municipal Court to administer and monitor probation and diversion cases. You will explain conditions, coordinate referrals, and maintain case records to support accountability and community safety.

A high school diploma or GED is required; one year of related experience is preferred. NCIC certification must be obtained within six months of hire. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degrees preferred but not required.
• One year of experience in court, probation, diversion, corrections, law enforcement, or related field.
• Ability to obtain NCIC access within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and document Municipal Court probation and diversion cases.
• Explain court-ordered conditions and diversion requirements; monitor compliance.
• Maintain complete and accurate case records and provide timely status information to the Court.
• Coordinate referrals and services; maintain confidentiality of documents and records.
• Prepare case-status summaries and documentation for hearings or reviews.
