Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and graduate of an accredited program for nurse practitioner (MSN required), including preceptorship.
• Must be credentialed and remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
• Current license in the state of employment, or as required by VA contracts.

Responsibilities

• Actively diagnoses and treats veterans under supervision of a physician.
• Examinations for symptoms of disorders and formulation of care plans.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests and provides follow-up care.
• Counsels patients on medications and health maintenance.
• Completes clinical documentation within 24 hours of encounters.
• Ensures adherence to VA guidelines and formulary processes.
• Collaborates with VA and community-based teams to develop patient care plans.
