Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited physical therapy school.
• Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the applicable state with current licensure.
• CPR certification required every two years.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care assessment and treatment. Ensures patient evaluations and treatments are comprehensive, functional and according to the Standard of Practice.
• Maintains accurate patient documentation. Completes written patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy; ensures timely documentation of education, charges and ICD-9 codes as appropriate.
• Meets department financial and productivity standards; understands budgeted expectations and adjusts schedules to meet patient/department needs.
• Participates in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services; identifies quality and operational opportunities.
• Promotes professional development and education of health care workers; conducts in-service training and enhances safety.
• Supervises physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students to develop skills and ensure quality patient care.
• Communicates professionally with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers.
• Provides appropriate patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines; demonstrates relevant knowledge and skills for the served patients.
• Adheres to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment via communication and teamwork.
