Job summary

Methodist Hospital Metropolitan, part of HCA Healthcare in San Antonio, seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant who will support the Lab Director and supervisors. You will process specimens, run routine tests, and help with equipment maintenance in a high-volume clinical setting.

The role may include phlebotomy, basic quality control, data entry, and clerical duties while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or GED equivalence.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Graduate of Phlebotomy Course required; additional 6 months experience preferred. If phlebotomy program has not been completed, then must have one-year experience in a medical laboratory or college coursework in biological/chemical sciences. Six months computer keyboarding or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes specimens for the section; prepares blood smears and body fluid slides, centrifuges specimens, streaks microbiology plates, prepares specimens for transport to reference labs.
